This rare advertising poster was issued by the White Star Line in the 1920s. The building and surrounding structures represent the New York skyline dominated by the Woolworth Building ~ the tallest in the world before the completion of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings in 1930 and 1931 respectively. This Modernist graphic style and large scale poster version, was something of a departure for the White Star Line from their traditional poster designs depicting ships and various sunshine destinations.
