This striking Art Deco poster was used for an exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in the summer of 1931. The streamlined image of Mercury, the winged messenger of the gods in Roman mythology, was appropriate for an exhibition of posters (themselves a form of communication). This is a reproduction of an original design by Austin Cooper for the Underground Electric Railways Co. of London, Ltd.
