The Savoy town of Annecy, known as the ‘Venice of the Alpes’ has been a popular tourist destination for centuries. With strong colours and bold shapes, this classic French travel poster is typical of the Art Deco-period. Annecy La Plage was created in the 1935 by the French illustrator Robert Falcucci for the PLM rail line, who commissioned a series of advertising posters to encourage tourism in the region.
